My Leadership Cases

Petite Pocket Die Box Free Tutorial

OMG How CUTE are these???

4.25 x 11 card stock to die cut one Petite Pocket with the Big Shot.

With the round flap at the top of the Simply Scored Tool, score down at 7/8” and 2-1/4”.

Rotate the pocket so the round flap is against the left side of the scoring tool. Score down at 2-1/4” and 6-1/2.

Trim the short score lines and and trim away the top small scored sections as shown.

the box folds together like this:

Use sticky strip or Green mono glue to secure your box together.

NSR: Swimming

I just wanted to take a minute to share my good news. My son qualified for Junior Olympics and the Elite meet this year for swimming. A goal he set over 15 months ago, I am so super excited to see him reach it.

Both of my sons swam great, but Carson on the left made the time cuts. This is them looking up at me from the stands. Little do they know I am their BIGGEST fan.

this was before one of his races- Hard to see but he is there!

He made Junior Olypics in the 200 Back and 200 Freestyle and is very very close in 2 more events. Here he is showing Mom no excitement! it was a really early 4:45 wakeup!

No Stampin' Up! Leadership conference for me...I'll be at the Elite meet in New Jersey watching my son swim! WOOOHOOOO. I'll miss my stamping girlfriends a lot, but this is just so awesome!

First The Santa Gift bags! I just had a great time making these. I added white tissue paper to these

From Robin's Blog: It's an old, old design idea that uses one full sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock for the tote. From there, you can decorate it however you wish. I saw Selene's photo tutorial for it on Stamping 411 yesterday and it all just clicked for me! Make a Santa tote!!

And for the Bag contents:

Inside was a gift card. the gift card holder specs are as follows. I cased them from Julie Davidson.

The tag is cut from the Two Tags die on the Big Shot. It fits perfectly inside the cardstock sleeve and holds a gift card with a mini glue dot. The cardstock sleeve is 4-1/4" x 6-1/8" in Real Red. Score on the long end at 1-5/8" and 4-1/2" and then use Sticky Strip or mono multi liquid to glue it together, leaving one end open.

I also had a Cello Bag with 3 cookies. 2 Sugared shortbread and one Jelly-yummy.

I did not take a picture of the cookies- but it looked a lot like this picture:

I completely cased this card from Lisa Young. OMGoodness its so cute and perfect for my son to give his new girlfriend. Inside it says" U Rock my World" from the hostess set Perfect Words

I made 2 so i would have one in my card stash

Here is the rest of the gift. a Santa bag (cased from Robin Merriman), an embellished frame, and in the box is a sweet necklace especially picked for her.

this is a basic white Frame from Kohl's. I altered it- since her favorite color is blue.

and hopefully they will get a picture together. (even if it is from a phone)

Getting my Gift on Day 2- the UPS man

For my UPS driver. I left this out on the step but the driver did not take it. I am guessing it must have been a temp driver so I'll have to stalk him for my next shipment. which will most likely be tomorrow- LOL.

I packed this in a cello bag the same way I did yesterdays USPS truck. Here is the back of the tag. this is a custom stamp - I just LOVE IT!!! and then I just hand wrote the dogs and address.

So I was a little busy this holiday season. Lots of handmade gifts and cards for everyone on my list, not so much time for blogging. This week I am going to share some of my favorites.

For John, the Mailman: inside was some candy and some cash!

From the archives- Jelly Cookies

Jelly cookies! YUMMMMMMMMYYYYYYY!

Here are the ones I baked on Wednesday:

Jill's Jelly cookies or Raspberry Star cookies-- My most requested!

1 cup of butter, softened

1/2 cup +2 tablespoons of white sugar

2-1/4 cups all purpose flour

pinch of salt

1 cup(jar) or seedless raspberry jam

icing

1 cup confectioners sugar

2 tsp almond extract

2-3 tsp water (or more)

drizzle over cookies

preheat oven to 350

cream together the butter and sugar till smooth

combine flour and salt, stir into creamed mixture

roll the dough to 1" balls

press to 3/8" thickness ( i use a glass cup)

indent the cookies with the back of the spoon, thumb or the pampered chef tart maker

place a small amount of jam into each cookie

bake for 10-12 minutes

let sit on cookie sheet for 2 minutes then cool on a wire rack

In a small bowl mix together the confectioners sugar and almond extract to form a gaze. add water a tsp at a time if the mixture is too thick to drizzle. I use a icing bag (or a ziploc bag, corner snipped off) to pipe the drizzle on so its perfect!

double this recipe it only makes about 24 cookies

An Oldie but a goodie!

I made the tags 2 years ago and never used them for pencils. So I made them into a card. This can easily be made with the Jolly Bingo bits set!

Pyramid Santa Card Instructions

Cut 3 Squares of Real Red to be 4x4, and score down the middle

fold and crease with your bone folder.

Attach one square on top as shown.

tip: if you want to put this santa card into an envelope, adhere the cardstock pieces slightly outside the score lines. this helps to fold it flat.

now attach the 3rd square underneath.

add a 3.75 x 3.75 whisper white, scored down the middle to the center.

Fold your card into the pyramid. Make 2 pencil marks where the tip stops.

you will be making a slit in the card stock so the pyramid stays standing.

with your hobby blade, make a cut in the card stock, connecting the 2 pencil marks

it should look like this:

Time to Embellish!

Punches used:

-Wide Oval (red glimmer paper and whisper white for the hat brim

-Medium Oval: Blushing bride for face

-Ornament punch: beard, embossed with the elegant lines embossing folder.

We got Snow in October!

I took a few days off from Stamping and working. WOW a snow day can really help out in the productivity department!

Last time it snowed in October here in PA was 1972. It was also the year of hurricane Agnes. This year we had a hurricane and we have snow in October!!!

Scored Window Pane

Try this technique! Score very vanilla every .5 inches in each direction with the simply scored tool (small tip in the stylus). Stamp image, then lightly sponge in soft suede ink to make your score lines pop. then add glitter to the snow.

with the 7” side at the top of the scoring tool, score at 1.25 in from each side

Fold to form the box with the larger tabs on the outside. Hand trim the corner off of the edges on both boxes. Decorate!

Card Box FREE Tutorial

Ladies

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this little box. I make so many cards and I am always excited to find a cute way to package them. So love the Simply scored tool too! I whipped these up in no time!

Here's how you make it!

Island indigo Card stock: 6 x 10.25, scored at 4-1/2 and 5-5/8

Melon Mambo card stock: 4 x 11, scored at 2-1/4, 3-1/4, 7-3/4 and 8-3/4. Turn and score the long side of the melon mambo at 1". Then Punch the other long edge with the scallop trim border Punch.

Snip the short score lines as shown below.

Fold the melon mambo to form a box as shown below. The seam will be in the back.

attach it to the Island indigo as shown with the paper seam in the back.

now attach the side of the cover to the side of the box. (optional)

this box holds 4-6 lightly embellished cards and envelopes

WOW ladies You ROCK! Thanks so much for all the comments. Sometimes I wonder if anyone out there reads what I do. so yes, you do! I had SO MUCH fun making these!!!

5.25 square scored at 1" on all sides. snip score lines to make the box.

these posit noted are from Target. if you want you box a little smaller just trim off 1/8 inch before scoring. I like the space to put the post notes in and out.

2 Scallop Envelope die cuts. Trim the bottom flap to be 1/2 inch

attach the 2 bottom pieces as shown

fold to form the small box.

fold a flap down

cut matching card stock to 9 x 3-1/8. Score this piece at 3, 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5. take your scored piece and fold it as shown.

attach the box to your 1/2 flap.

then fold over and attach the other end to just inside the box

add designer series paper and then attach your envelope box.

A Fall Wedding Invitation

I participated in a Wedding Invitation swap a few weeks ago. Instead of the traditional black and white, I went for a Fall theme. At Stampin Up!, we have such beautiful stamps I thought it would be FUN to create one a little out of the box.

A gift for Helen!

My good friend Helen stamped with me on her Birthday. So I made her some homemade baked treats and this cute little Birthday post-it note holder for her desk at work.

this is the posit note side:

Note: I cased this from a similar project online. I made up my own SPECS to re-create the project.

Post-it note box: 5.25 x 5.25 scored at 1" on all 4 sides. snip show score lines to form the box.

cut matching card stock to 9 x 3-1/8. Score this piece at 3, 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5. this is the folded "tent" piece that connects the post it note box and the envelope box. there is a flap that tucks under the post-it box on the bottom that you can not see.

Cut TWO scallop envelopes from the SU big shot die. trim ONLY the bottom envelope flap to 1/2 inch on both die cut pieces. Attach them together to form the box.

assemble as shown, then embellish!

Founders the final Day and Surprise

Here is my Team the Silver spoons. What wonderful new friends I have made and a fun outing at the Coral Canyon golf course.

We drove all over the golf course. So fun those golf carts!

These bunnies were as big as my dog! Holy smokes-- there were tons of them everywhere. Here in the east we have geese on the course.

Stunning and beautiful on the course.

the Final dinner was amazing after the event- boy were we hungry!!!

Everyone was a winner!

Before I left my daughter said expect a surprise when you get home. This normally means lots of pictures and love notes for me.

When I got home I got lots of pictures and she gave me this. a decorated can with notes inside. They were a little soggy but still readable.

I returned home late last night from Founder Circle! So much fun this year. This was the 2nd time I have earned this trip. I love the ladies I am getting to know better and I have so many new friendships too!

Here are a Few of my favorite shots from the first day: My new friends and my team- The Silver Spoons. what a great dinner we had together. Lots of Laughs!

On Thursday we went on a hike in the Narrows of Zion National Park. (last year I went rock repelling) There was quite a bit of rain so the water in the narrows was really high. So we split the hike into a wet part and a dry part.

off in to the 50 degree water. As a result of the rain, the water was running very high, just below the point where we could not hike in it. the water at some points was chest high!! YES I did go in that deep. I had a brand new outfit for this. All quick dry/water wicking hiking clothes. right down to my "unders"

Now on to the dry part. here we go right up the rocks. there was a small trail, but not much.

through the cave, really cool the temperature difference in the rock.

When we got to the top, a most SPECTACULAR view and a picnic lunch provided by our 2 guides.

Jan took this shot of me. its great how it shows the AMAZING beauty of the rock landscape. (I look pretty good too)

the Zion park hike was AMAZING. I really love doing these outdoor adventures. I'm sure working hard to earn this trip next year. See you tomorrow for more pics from Founders circle!

I made it to Southern Utah for the Founder's Circle Retreat. No projects to share, But WOW this is amazing and Stampin Up! has already spoiled us!! Hopefully will get to share some pictures tomorrow and my swap card too!
